Thousands of business owners set up a business page on Facebook and believe it will generate business without much effort. Unfortunately, that is not the case. If your business isn’t making itself visible on Facebook regularly and with relevant content then you’re missing out on one of the most cost-effective places to meet new customers.
Everyone is aware of how popular Facebook is, but not as many people appreciate the opportunities available to businesses that develop a social media presence. With social media, you have control over your brand image, and you get to put your message in front of the people you think will be interested.
These are a few of my tips from my Facebook for Business Workshop that will help you get started.
- Fill it out!
Fill out as much information about who you are and what you do! Include images of you, your environment and of course your staff. This will create trust and relatability. Be sure to include contact information, opening hours and a link to your website.
2) Schedule frequent and consistent post!
Once you have pictures and information about your business, an active page should also have relatively frequent posts. Try to post original content as often as possible. I am keen to state, however, prioritise quality over quantity. Posting several times a day could annoy your fans, causing them to unlike or unfollow your page.
3) Learn about your customers!
Who looks at the Audience Insight tools? Once you have built your audience to over 100 followers you will get the opportunity to see the demographics of your audience. This information is invaluable.
Well, that’s a few to get on with for now! Keep in touch to see more in the next few weeks!
